A FESTIVAL BEGINS! ... (the nice, innocent kind.)
The Summer Festival
Harken, young and old...! Olde? Olde! Ye young and... olde! Yes! To the Midland's annual Summer Festival! The streets are alive with music and crowded with patrons and vendors and merchants and gypsies and performers and nobles-- well, you get the point, don't you, lads?
The smell of food (and sweaty bodies under the summer sun) is everywhere around you. Laughter and dancing are around every corner; the townspeople are in high spirits and invite you to take place in the many attractions scattered about the city. You're one of us, Traveler! Come and take a load off. Have fun, and celebrate another year, another summer, another beautiful day in Midland!
Care to delve right into things? There's plenty to do! Try your hand at some Jousting, if you're brave enough. The winner is said to take quite the lovely prize...
Or how about the fighter's ring? Test your meddle against off-duty knights or toughened drunkards hoping to make a pretty penny off of the winner's prize, if the clink of gold coins in that purse is tempting!
Or maybe you're more of a foodie? There's tents and shops and little stands set up everywhere with all the old-fashioned goodies you'd expect. Pits are roasting pigs; bakers are wafting the aroma of delectable sweets and breads through shop windows... No man will go hungry today!
Maybe you'd like to get your fortune told by a gypsy? Or peruse the art merchants peddling their fine wares? Would you rather stop and watch the fire-eaters and jesters harkening passer-bys? There's so much to see and do, you'll never want to go home, kids.
At the end of the night, things will settle down with some music, dancing, and tales around fires lit across the city with plenty of alcohol. Get plastered and tell some embarrassing tales, folks.
