[Kutner is sitting on the roof, practicing his spells. He's got his spell book open to one side, the journal open to the other, and this is mostly requiring a lot of time and focus.

[Tas likes the roof. There are always interesting people up here. Like the mage sitting off to one side. He really hadn't seen any other mages besides Raistlin since he got here... at least not the kind he was used to with the robes and the spellbooks and the-

Wait a minute....

Suddenly there's a kender at Kutner's side, peeking around him at his spellbook.... and completely forgetting all of Raist's rules on NOT interrupting spellcasters while they're focusing] Are you a mage? You've got the red robes, like Raistlin used to wear, before he decided to change them, but there don't seem to be many of them here and I don't think I've seen you before. Are you working on a spell?

[eye roll as he gives the kender a gentle nudge off him]

Yes. And, I was, but you broke my concentration.

[everborrowing]

Oh! Sorry. [but since he's already gone and broken it...] So you're one of us? From Ansalon? Do you know Raistlin? He'd probably really be glad to hear that there's another mage here, since it'd give him someone else to talk to...

[a pause] or maybe not, because sometimes he can be really prickly about company, but you never know and you probably should meet him because we should stick together if there are so few of us from the same place.

I'm Tasslehoff, by the way. [thrusting a hand in his direction.... shaking might not be a good idea if he'd like to hang on to those spell components and other interesting objects he's got]

Curious, he comes over, cocking his head.]

I did not know you could use spells, Kutner.

I'm not great at it, so I usually don't advertise.

It's just strange. You didn't seem like the sort to have magic in your world at all, the way you talked....

What spell are you working on?

Not much, but I need the practice.

[Raistlin pads up onto the roof, carrying his own book under one arm and leaning heavily on his staff. his Murkrow flutters up after him, and he stands quietly off to one side, waiting for his apprentice to notice him.

interrupting his focus would be horribly rude and counterproductive, after all]

[finishes the last of the spell, before glancing around behind him and giving him a small smile]

How long have you been there?
