Adrian has just barely been getting used to this whole castle thing when he rolls over in bed and bumps into something soft and warm and apparently human-sized.

He sits up and reaches for a bedside lamp, and ends up having to feel around for it, because apparently the castle's decided to move it.

[He almost touches her, and then pulls back. He's seen too many terrible movies to understand that her reaction will probably be to automatically start screaming and attacking him with her pillow in a comically useless fashion. But then again, it'll only be worse if it ends up looking like he kidnapped her or something.

Damn it. He doesn't even know who she is.

He gives in and tentatively bends over to gently shake her awake.]

[ in a modern day clothes-- which is weird for joan-- but she couldn't find any of her pencil dresses or sweaters so she stuck to jeans and a plaid t-shirt. this was too surreal.
