[Written, as always:]Would anyone here be interested in some sort of scientific forum from time to time? I know that I myself have some things I would like to share with the larger intellectual community of Paradisa, and I'm wagering that I'm not the only one ( Read more... )

Of course I would! It's quite fascinating to learn how other worlds have developed technology without having mana available as an energy source.

So you would be interested in meeting up or something along those lines?

Yes. I'd be happy to meet other inquisitive minds, and having many differing points of view seems like an excellent way to provide adequate perspective.

A form of peer review, if you will.

Excellent. I'll keep you informed, then.

Yes.

Like...alot.

What sort of stuff would you want to do?

I'm mainly interested in figuring out the properties of the Castle and this dimension in general.

I have some experience with bending aspects of the space-time continuum, but I don't know if they would apply to what we have here, at all.

Sharing information and theories on that would be... awesome.

I've been working on methods of what we could do, but it certain won't be easy, whatever method we take.

But if we pool our resources, even if the castle decides to try to stop us... well. It's not exactly the only seemingly-insurmountable thing I've fought against in my life, and I get the feeling it won't be the last.

Sir, you've caught my interest.

Have I? Good, I'm glad. There's only so far someone can get on a teleporter design with no real training in engineering.

What kind of teleporter?

hev_interloper November 12 2009, 04:20:16 UTC
Ideally, I'd be using something that would use the resonance properties of a transuranic material--it's the same basic theory as using the oscillations of a sample to reliably measure time--as a medium for teleportation. By matching the oscillations and the quantum footprint of the object you're trying to teleport, you can get a more efficient and precise teleport. In theory, at least. If the material is too unstable, then the results get harder to predict, and the greater the chance is that your machinery will fail--thus putting the very existence of your component molecules into the hands of Mother Spacetime.

Count me in. Especially if we find a way out of here.

[Gordon's smirking to himself as he writes.]

Keep it in the realm of possibilities.

[Sol smirks as well as he responds]

Getting out of here had damn well better be a possibility.

The castle does work hard to keep its residents away from any potentially harmful information.

Really? I'm glad. I'd hoped this would generate interest, of course, but seeing it doing so is even more gratifying.

Do you have any preferred meetup times?

There's only so many times you can blow up the microwave before it gets repetitive.

Not at all, whenever. I mean, it's not like I've got anything else to do around here.

I tend to avoid tampering with devices that have magnets if at all possible, but I can understand the appeal.

I'll put up more information later, so keep on the lookout!
