Don't look at the electoral map on the NY Times website - it's upsettingly red.

Progressives handed them the House and then the Presidency the two last times Americans went to the polls and what did they get really? Rahm Emmanuel and Larry (I think more dangerous industry should be outsourced to the Third World) Summers.

Small wonder they're staying home, I'd be pretty over it too.

I think they're also expecting the GOP to then blame Obama for the economy for not improving.

Obama coming out of it a saint, even if he were to go McKillop on their arses, is the absolute last thing they will let happen.

Plus, of course, 'let them see how bad it gets under the Republicans and then they'll see sense' will have a proven shelf-life of only two years.

Yeah well it's kind of up to them to not let it happen and kind of up to Obama to fucking step up. This is the part where he earns his stripes.

I was thinking that too, that maybe this will force Obama to be more radical, to accept his fate as a one-term President and stop being such a lame duck.

I don't live there either, but I think if the US goes down the tubes, the depression will probably be global. Maybe its inevitable this global shakedown of the Middle Class .. wake up to the new oligarchs, fun fun
