I just hit Gran Pulse in FFXIII and am now resigned that I need to do some serious level grinding to get further. The giant evil tomatoes kill me every freaking time. =_=
Are those the ones that self destruct if you don't kill them fast enough? -___- I wonder why they did the game the way they did, because 95% of the things on Gran Pulse will kill you. Lol So you just have to avoid a lot of things. I was stuck between a boss and an enemy that I had to use a summon against. And I couldn't beat the boss so I thought I'd go back and grind some more, but then I couldn't get past the enemy and I couldn't summon anymore because I was out of points. -___- It was kinda ridiculous.
Other than the evil tomatoes, how're you liking the game?
It's pretty obvious that it's by the same design team that did X, what with the linearity and the crysarium. I generally like the battle system (I think it's a lot more manageable than XII's), but I'm not a fan of the AI controlling the characters... I mean, if the main character dies it's just game over. The other party members just hang around staring blankly at your corpse, wtf.
I think the plot could maybe use some tightening up - even for an FF game, it feels kinda ridiculous - but overall I like it. :)
