Funny thing, the girl I assist with grooming has family from BC and just the other day she was telling me how snotty places Victoria and Whistler can be. Vancouver's supposedly not like that (if anything, it's gritty), but Whistler refuses to let Tim Hortons open a store because it's not "pretty enough."

I haaate small towns. I hate making small talk with the people who ride in the elevator with me, so God help me if I have to do neighbourly things. I live in a city of three to five million people because I like to be left the fuck alone. And in a city where it's not too unusual to see one guy guiding another scantily-clad guy down the street with a collar and a leash, I'm far from the most alien thing here

I would like to heartily second this report of Victoria and Whistler snottiness. YES. A million times yes. Whistler snottiness is *special*, though. Nasty adjectives don't really do it's special snottiness justice
