Breast milk data is also kind of scary. Certain non-polar pollutants can stay in your body for years, but they come out in milk, so babies are getting lots of chemicals in their first few months.

yeah. Definitely unsurprised, but still scary.
The whole teflon thing is scary. They're even finding it in totally secluded/middle of nowhere wildernesses where people and teflon substances should never be. And they NEVER GO AWAY.
I've been seriously rethinking replacing all my pots and pans with non-teflon ones.

don't live in a germ-free bubble! Let your kid be exposed to dirt and germs and stuff. Don't let them near anti-bacterial hand soap and the like. In order for an immune system to develop properly it needs to have stuff to fight against. We're so scared of letting our kids get dirty or any germs that they aren't developing proper immune systems. A lot of people think that's why allergies and asthma and stuff is on the rise - the immune system is attacking what it shouldn't because it isn't being kept busy.

Okay, I was serious about the organic foods, but I'm sure you know I was joking about the germ-free bubble, right? ;) Actually, speaking of germ-free bubbles, I saw part of this hilarious movie starring John Travolta as a boy growing up in a germ-free bubble, which is what I was thinking of when I wrote that.

Yeah, yeah, I knew you weren't serious. Just my little pet soapbox that I climb on top of a little bit too quickly.
