I've been replaying FFIX and I noticed... The villains sure do like to terrorize the female lead, don't they? Rosa and Kain (when he's villainous and being all creepy at her), Terra and the slave crown (with Kefka being all creepy at her), Aeris getting attacked by Hojo and killed by Sephiroth (with Hojo fulfilling the creepy-at-her part), Rinoa

Well, I mean, it's kind of more specific than just your straight-up damsel in distress business.
