Band AUs, God! I think the reason they appeal to me so much is the combination family/lovers/people trapped together vibe, which this fic has in spades. Owen is so sharp-edged, hurting himself as often as he hurts anyone else; it makes it easy to sympathize with him, despite his frequent assholishness. I love the tangled relationships, and the little conversations and memories that illuminate them. Jack as an addict makes so much sense, and the episode titles work really well as song titles. And I'm grateful for the hopeful ending, letting me imagine that things will turn out better for the band Torchwood than it did for the characters on the show.

Thanks for sharing this! It was an unexpected treat when I opened my flist this morning.

I love band AUs as well, though I don't think I've ever read a happy one ever, which is kind of weird... I couldn't believe how much the episode titles sounded like songs either! And I had to give it a hopeful ending, I love these guys too much not to.

Thank you so much sweetie, I'm glad you liked :D

Awww, thank you so much lovely! I always want to tell Tosh to run away from the crazy people too (she deserves so much more!). And as for the Welsh accent thing... I think most people feel that way actually! Half my family are Welsh and I still squee when I talk to them on the phone... Anyway, I'm glad you liked :)

This is amazing. I love how incredibly destructive all the members of Torchwood are, and how that destructiveness always teeters between tearing them to pieces and holding them together. That's how I always saw them on the show, and it works so well in this AU that it blows my mind. Fabulous work.

ALSO. If you did decide to write a Martha-POV sequel, I just might explode from sheer joy. I'm already imagining how it would go, and it would be epic.

I love the destructiveness of the Torchwood people a bit too much, I imagine that that comes across! Thank you very much sweetie, I'm glad you liked!

Ohmygoodness, how much better are the Torchwood guys as freakishly dysfunctional band members rather than fucking screwed up alien catchers?? This should be the TV show.

Oh, how I've missed your Torchwood stuff!! You've been writing these boys for too long, every word out of their mouths is ridiculously in character. I especially love your Ianto. 'Cos he's a twat.

“Oh look,” Ianto mutters, “you turn into Gok Wan when you’re hammered. Always nice to know.”

I love how you've worked the Torchwood storylines into the bandom plot, all the way down to episode titles being song titles. That's actually kind of beuatiful :).

But, oh, the angst. Owen is so, so fucked up it's kind of heartbreaking. And Suzie! (you always write Suzie so wonderfully it gives me chills). The bit when the band hear she's killed herself is such a horrible shock, even though, I guess, I should've knew where that was going. I love the claustrophobia and the anger and it all just seems so spot-on. The Torchwood gang should never go on tour together. They would kill ( ... )

I've become weirdly attached to their helpless faily band alter-egos now ;) And it's been too long since I've written for these boys, considering how much I love them (more than any other couple I write for at all, seriously). I'm glad you picked up on the facebook line, I'm weirdly attached to that one although I have no idea why! Basically, thank you so much for such a lovely and detailed comment sweetie, you are marvellous :D I'm so glad you liked!

I have far too many things to say, and most of them are just quoting huge sections and telling you how awesome you are... so I'll skip the quoting bit and just say that I loved all of this. The band is a scarily perfect AU, and "The Time Agents" are brilliant and I adored cute little Tosh and slutty Gwen and OCD emo Ianto and flirty id-driven Jack and poor depressed Suzie and conflicted confused Owen most of all.

You are far too good at this, sweetie. Don't ever stop. :)
