This was a really solid episode tag, slotting into canon neatly and giving solid attention to characterization. I'm always impressed with the way you write Owen; he's an ass, and while you give him reasons, you don't give him excuses. You make him a person, complicated and illogical as we all are, rather than a caricature.
The Torchwood leaflets are a hilarious idea (and I'd really like to get my hands on them), and I like the way they ground the history of Torchwood in the mundane as well as the extraordinary.

a) You said everything in your comment that I was going to say. About giving him reasons but not excuses, and it being sharp and painful and just right for them.
b) Torchwood leaflets! They're not just an idea, they exist, in all their retro glory. You can find them at the BBC website. Go to the Torchwood section and click 'Episodes' in the sidebar. It gives you extras; for many episodes, a leaflet is one of the episodes. They have a cute one for Adam about hypnosis, and there are several others.
