Last week, actually - we sold out!

We're getting more in, I think.

I want to think that Pietro sounds like Borat, if Borat was uptight and a little gay papajoemambo October 6 2007, 04:39:16 UTC

This is from two months ago. There is a decidedly retro feel to it, tho. I can't get enough of the stuff these two do together.

I also love the random pile of loose $100 bills that Warren has on his dresser the way the rest of us have quarters for laundry (this becomes a running joke in Parker's stories with the First Class of X-Men - they mentioned it again last ).

Jeff Parker, I'm telling y'all now, is one of the best writers working in comics, period papajoemambo October 6 2007, 15:22:10 UTC

Yeah, it's a good one.

I want to scan the issue where Xavier realises that Jean has no female role model so he asks Sue Storm to let her hang around with her for a little while. The stuff between Johnny and Jean is fun, and Parker really understands the different dynamic between how the kids at Xavier's Acadamy and the FF interact.

Oooh, Jean and Sue! We need more female partnerships, it's why I like Harley and Ivy so much.

Hanging out at Pop Tates, slurpin a soda... papajoemambo October 6 2007, 15:17:34 UTC

I agree - and I think something that's been missing from a lot of the X-Men stuff in the past 20 years or so is the whole Archie vibe that a lot of the "First Class" stuff from the 60's had when Stan or Roy or Werner Roth were writing the book.

They used to hang out with their non-mutant girlfriends at a coffee shop (with a resident slam poet named Bernie) and dance and act like teenagers (kind of like Archie). Now it's all about the blowing up and the ethnic cleansing metaphors.

I kind of wish Jeff would do a story where Bobby talks them into trying to put a band together. Or the Bobby-as-Archie, Hank-as-Jughead, Johnny-Storm-as-Reggie-Mantle story.
