Hey Dudes, here are the last 13 comics I've done for DAR.
A couple aren't safe for work and I've tried to remember to include a warning on their preview graphics, but I forgot to put one on "The Best Job" so, y'know, watch out.
No, Segway cops is not a Portland thing. I try not to claim anything as a Portland thing because it's embarassing to find out when it's not, especially from someone who tells me they thought it was their city's thing too.
As far as I know, and I looked this stuff up, Portland isn't on the list Segway has on their website of police departments that have contracts with them. A private security firm called Portland Patrol Inc. and run by the Portland Business Alliance (they're hard to distinguish from real police officers because they dress too similarly and also carry guns) does do some of their patrols on bicycles and segways.
I love your comics! They make real life so entertaining. I used to have trichotilomania too. I pulled my eyelashes out compulsively. I finally got myself to stop by pinching myself REALLY hard whenever i did it. That way the feeling of release was replaced by a feeling of pain, and gradually the desire faded! And now I have eyelashes! Good luck.
After reading your zit face comic, I felt so much better. I've been doing a similar thing to my cuticles/fingers for years and never knew why. I assumed I was totally insane and alone. Maybe now I can actually figure out how to stop it. Thank you.
Yeah, i love it when people tell me to "just stop" too. I've had the same pinching/picking problem since i was in middle school. I really enjoyed your comic, it's always helpful to know you're not the only one.
also, i also wanted to say how much i enjoy reading about portland in your comics! I was born and raised there, and became a huge fan of Pants Press Back when Jen Wang was still doing her Strings of Fate comic. I even made it down to Comic Con for the release of Flight Vol. I. I think i met you there and you showed me how to make paper stars?
Then everyone moved to Portland and I went to France. Now I'm in Colorado. But i simply love seeing obscure references to Portland Culture when they pop up in your comics.
Yeah, as far as I know, I'm the only one who teaches people how to make stars at comic conventions. It's my shtick, to make people stick around my table and then maybe they will buy something ;)
How long were you in France? I lived in Aix-en-Provence for six months.

Maybe I should try to the reverse; pull out my hair to stop myself from pinching ;)
