Can I just say that piece of dialogue is genius!! It never fails to give me chills, plus the fact it's Angelus saying it makes it 100 times more effective ;)

God, Angelus was a real bastard, wasn't he? This is one of those scenes that rewards rewatching, because the first time you're just so moved by the tragedy of it, and how amazingly well ASH conveys Giles' horror. Then, when you rewatch it, you're so beyond creeped out by the entire *setup* - even though Angelus isn't technically in this scene, I would count it as one of the top Angelus scenes in terms of the mythology of his character (i.e., why he's the Scourge of Europe and not just another vamp with a high body count.)

I loved Angelus. Sure, he broke Buffy's heart every chance he got, but he was such an interestingly evil character. He didn't just eat people, he hurt them.
