I have decided that this month (once I've put my paycheck in the bank as the school has NOT direct deposited it), I am going to buy a bedframe for my bed. I am sick of this sleeping on an airmatress on the ground. That baby gets fucking cold sitting on the ground--the cold air just seeps up into it.

So, what do you all think of this bed? It's ( Read more... )

I do not understand the lack of Ikea love. I have tons of their stuff. It stays together. It's cheap. Good for it.

I say go for it.

LOL! Everything I've ever gotten from them has fallen apart--mostly before I've even put it up (wood splitting, some screws not included, that sort of thing). BUT I'm willing to chance it for a real bed.

Well, here's a little tip -- the no-words manual should have a numbered count of how many screws/nails/thingies you'll need for the whole thing; just count them to make sure beforehand, then maybe store them in a dish while you work. If the count falls short, call IKEA immediatly. They usually give more, pronto.

My own bed's from IKEA! (Actually, all of my bedroom furniture is.) So welcome to the club. ;)

I like the simplicity of it. For some reason I keep seeing fairy lights wrapped around the headboard. Probably not the best idea for somewhere you were trying to sleep, but it'd sure look pretty ;)

Oooh! That sounds like a wonderful idea, actually! It would only be for decoration because I can't sleep with any lights, but it still sounds keen.

I like it, sugar. It's simple and clean and looks very versatile. And I love the fairy light idea.

Awesome bedframe. But.

I'd suggest that instead of springing for a frame on which to put an air bed, you drop that 99 bucks into a proper cloth-and-springs mattress and boxspring. The boxspring puts your mattress about 10" off the floor, and mattresses, being made of loads of cloth and insulation, are very warm creatures.

I've not used a bed with a frame since I was thirteen or so. Was always banging my ankles on the bottom of 'em. I like my beds the way I like the rest of my furniture: on the floor.

LOL. I don't like being on the floor is the thing. It makes my inner child uncomfortable (Hard to explain, but my nightmares get exponentially worse when I'm near the ground as opposed to a proper bed). And I technically *do* have a mattress/boxspring, it's just in Seattle and I've no way to get them down.
