Poor showmanship! petitepam February 2 2007, 13:45:30 UTC
It must have been more exciting being there at the National Stadium, Marie. I am so happy for the Singapore Lions for having beaten the Thais in the 1st leg of the Asean Football Championship. It was such an exciting match until a penalty was awarded to Singapore by the referee and the Thai side totally objected to his decision and protested by walking off the field and refusing to play. It came as a shock to Singaporeans and I feel it was very poor showmanship on their part. The Thais had to be persuaded and only after about 10 minutes did they finally agree to resume play. That is when one of our star strikers scored the winning goal for Singapore with a penalty kick.
With the 2nd leg between Singapore and Thailand to be played in Bangkok this coming Sunday, it is left to be seen who will emerge champions.
