Hey, guys, I found a picture in one of the - uh, classrooms. What's left of a classroom.

Dunno if it's really interesting or not, but... Hey, but it survived whatever burned the room up! Maybe it's flame-proof photography! [haha]

So is everyone else done looking at the nasty dead animal parts yet?

[Pout! She holds the photo close to her.] Of course I won't! I'm not some little kid! I'll stick it in my backpack.

[Softens somewhat, but, still:] I can take care of some picture without losing it or having to be reminded not to lose it. I'm not a KID.

[pause, and then stabbing at the buttons as he types:] You're the one who brought up losing it in the first place! All I said was I trusted you NOT to!

[at which point, Johnny rolls his eyes, shoves his communicator in his jacket pocket, and heads out the classroom. He's not headed far, just out into the hallway.]

[She makes a face at him while he heads out, and yells after him:]

Yeah, and who put you in charge of everyone, anyway?

[Takes her a moment to remember, yeah, he doesn't understand her language. So she types it up for him in capslock or - uh, whatever - and stomps out into the hallway after him with the intention of giving - seriously, handing him - the message.]

[text] aaand a lightbulb going off.

[He ignores the yelling. Doesn't ignore the stomping, because she said she was a martial artist and he knows one hand-to-hand fighter who'd knock his lights out over an argument. So he turns just in time to presumably get a communicator shoved in his face. Or possibly handed the communicator more gently.]

...Am I being bossy?

[...Let's go with handed to him in a forceful manner.]

[Pan fancies herself as someone with leadership ability and skills and maturity, too, but... well, she stands there pouting for a minute. part is like, "see, this'll show him," but part of it is also to lower her own irritation.]

[Plus, when you have to type instead of yell directly, it takes a little of the punch out of things.]

I GET that there has to be SOMEone in charge and all that so I don't mind LETting you do that! BUT I can take care of things without you telling me OR reminding me OR suggesting that I do. It's not like I'm that stupid!

[Hands it back - a bit more politely. Aaaand now has to wait for him to read it and type a reply. This method is really taking all the fun out of arguing.]

[he feels a little bad about the pouting. Raises an eyebrow at all the capital letters when he gets it back, but then he actually reads what she typed.]

I didn't mean to make you feel stupid! I just

[He hates typing, too. It feels so artificial to him. That, and he can't think of what else to say. ...eventually, he gives up, deletes the incomplete thought, and passes it back.]

[It's just that being treated like a child - or believing that she is being treated like one - is Pan's #1 Trigger]

[She reads it and - after a moment; she isn't sure exactly what to react with, since this clearly isn't going to escalate - probably - she shrugs. She's not sure what to say, either - she won't apologize because she doesn't think she should or has to, so she just stands around feeling a little awkward for a couple of seconds.]

[Finally:] Just try and bear it in mind in the future. [Add a superior look when she hands the message over.]

[The superior look makes him think he's in for more yelling text, so he's kind of relieved to see the brief, simple message.]

All right, I will. [pause, and then:] Sorry.

[Well, she knows, a part of her, that she's overreacting. So logically she has to save face by making him the one at fault. Yes she's an immature brat, what about it?]

[She makes the "okay" sign with her hand and smiles a bit. Faster than typing it out; same meaning.]
