I had not expected Roy to struggle with this so much, but I must say I am enjoying his angsting. (Clearly I'm a sadist.)
How could he accept a new view of his sexuality now, well into his thirties, when he'd thought he'd fully explored that aspect of himself?
I'm also glad that I wasn't entirely off base. Roy was certain he's as straight as they come, and now he has to realise that maybe he's heteroflexible for the right person after all. It's not easy, even when you don't consider yourself to be homophobic, because it's not a question of phobia, but of understanding yourself.
I want to know what he understood. And I hope it amounts to more than '42'.
I should say, re: ring: It wasn't stated that Roy had been looking at the ring with the pink diamond, only that it was there and that it was what might have caught Sophie's attention.
