Ohhh, I've been waiting so eagerly for this to be posted, and didn't even realize it's a sequel to The Prices We Pay, which I LOVED. Hooray! It's hilarious and sweet and sincere and fantastic so far, I can't wait for the rest, you are AWESOME! XD

Ah, thank you so much, and WOW, you're really on the ball! I haven't even had the chance to pimp this on the comms yet- been to busy having nervous breakdowns all day, trying to get it coded and break the posts properly... *shakes*

But I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and that it's living up to The Prices We Pay. Sequels always make me a little nervous, since I never want to spoil the experience of a good first story with one that maybe doesn't live up to the readers' expectations. But this story needed to be told, and in fact, this universe will continue on well past this fic. I'm guessing there are at least two more stories in the Goredverse, and hopefully I'll have the fortitude and skill to tell them.

Enough rambling though- thank you so much for reading, and I hope to have the rest up very soon!

I'm only on the ball because I get bored at work and I refresh my friends page about eighty billion times a day...and I'm delighted that there will be more Goredverse, and the name "Goredverse" makes me giggle! Also, your icon is wickedly hot. I heart Ed/Roy.

Thank you so very much! I'm really relieved to hear that it doesn't drag; that was something I'd worried about quite a bit. It's a challenge, writing a story that had this quiet rhythm to it, and still keeping it compelling. But the slow shift in their regard for one another was what I was looking for, and you can't rush that.

But I'm really glad that you're enjoying it so far! With any luck, I'll get the denouement ironed out in the next day or so, and have the rest up very quickly. If nothing else, I can split Part 2 into two smaller segments- something I'll do if those revisions give me a hard time. (can't believe I'm working right down to the wire like this, ye gods!) I was so excited to see this uploaded! I've been eagerly awaiting your big bang fic for ages, it was a real treat starting the long weekend with this!

I LOVE the way this story is developing, the relaxed pacing, the slow changes in their regard for each other, it has a lovely feel of realism that so many other fanfics just don't manage.

And following on from The Prices We Pay as well, unexpected and fabulous, as I totally adored that story :D I can't wait for the rest of this!

I was more than happy to wait for my fic knowing this one was in the works, and even more so now having read this first part!

I totally agree about the slow build, it can be very jarring the way some stories just dive right in to the smut without any real justification for why it happens. Not to say some PWP isn't enjoyable, but I think there's more fun to be had watching a relationship and characters grow. I am very much looking forward to following the further development of this one!

Hey you! Things going better for you? I haven't seen many updates lately. (of course, I've also been nose-down, writing this monster, so I've not been at my most attentive either)

I'm glad you're enjoying this! As much as I've moaned over the process for the past few months, this fic really has been fun to write. I'm hoping to have more up very soon (debating spacing Part 2 out over a couple days, since it's a good bit bigger than Part 1), probably tomorrow, if things work out.

And haha, isn't Armstrong a hoot? I honestly had the best time writing that part- the things the people in my brain come up with surprise me sometimes!
