I love my red. It's at a funky length right now. I had it way short, but decided to let it grow out and now it's just awkward.
He totally rocked the long hair, but he was beginning to hate having it brushed. He refused to let us put it in a ponytail, so he constantly got stuff in it (um, food). The kids at daycare kept asking us if he was a girl. And everyone we met would tell us that "she is so cute". It was just time...
On an almost related note: One day Jonathan went to pick him up, and he walks into the room. A little girl has Darby against the wall and is trying to unzip his pants. I figured she was trying to determine once and for all if he was a boy. It freaked out the teacher, though!
