PLEASE READ: Pandemonium Books & Games In Danger Of Going Under!

So a few months ago I sent out an email to the entire membership in which I said:

1) No, the store is not dead, though it may have appeared so.  Pandemonium has in fact moved to Central Square, Cambridge, and now is open for business.

2) The move was unexpectedly traumatic, owing to the fact that we were closed for over three months.

This scares me, because Pandemonium was one of my favorite stores in Harvard Square all the time I lived in Boston. When I left in June the move was advertised as being all about expanding space and sales. Were you being forced out of the Galleria becuase of increasing rents? I suppose this goes to show that many stores are running on a very thin margin for error. It's just scary to think that store could go from being in one place for so long to closing so suddenly.

I wish you the best of luck. You should set up a paypal account so people can make donations as well. I bet a lot of people who don't need more t-shirts would be happy to donate money to a good cause.

Agreed. As a small business owner, I know what a huge struggle it is (especially this winter which has supersized sucked for me). I'd love to donate $20 to your cause, and I have no desire for this month's T-shirt designs. :-)

*raises hand*

(Though the point made in a later comment about the T-shirts also being helpful advertising is a good one, and is causing me to consider getting one anyhow - while I'm full up on T-shirts, some *are* nearing retirement age.)

And a weird question for smoagendash: If someone besides yourself were to pay the IRS money to be credited against your taxes (which I'm not sure if they allow), would that be considered taxable income for you?

[Plus: I'm guessing you've already spoken to a tax professional of some sort about the store's situation, but if not, it's something you might want to consider.]

I just pre-ordered mine. Hopefully, this initiative helps save the store. I haven't had a chance to get to the new location yet!
