You got me with the first two paragraphs, in this one. So many lovely turns of phrase - it's a scent like dreams .... When Merlin gets it back, however, it smells likes Arthur. .. The mixture is nice and Merlin is so used to associating it with safety but it's nowhere near the kind of comfort that Lancelot exudes.
And this made me grin - All-powerful sorcerers do not need to be tucked in.
And again, a lovely last line.
