So, this is about the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0938283/. So it turns out that they made all the leading role characters Caucasian. As a result, since the lead roles are all Caucasian, all people related to the lead roles are therefore

I heard about this and was horrified - especially b/c one of the white boys had a quote where he's like "oh, I just need to grow my hair out and get a tan". WHAT? That's brownface, asshole. And to make matters worse, the movie is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, himself an Indian-American. There are so few Asian-Americans in Hollywood to begin with (there is this GREAT song from the Dr. Horrible commentary track, called Nobody's Asian in the Movies, all about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNmzegQUtFA), and then they took a show which is grounded in Asian culture and made it white. Because god knows people only want to watch movies when white people are the main characters (not like Slumdog Millionaire was a huge success or anything...). Ugh. I'm totally not going to see this.
