My first foray into PotC fic (besides one lonely drabble). This is one of the stories that literally seemed to come from nowhere--I just sat down, started writing, and it appeared.

~thus~ Geez, this is wonderful. I loved the imagery and the reason that you've given Barbarosa for not actually harming the women outright. And what a wonderful character you've written in Catherine.

Thank you! *beams*

And what a wonderful character you've written in Catherine.

I'm glad to hear this--I'm always kind of leary about creating original characters that are featured prominently in a story, but it was necessary here...and wasn't too bad! LOL. :-)

Fabulously done. Beuatiful imagry and syntax and adds a certain sort of unseen but still in-character melancholy to Barbossa. Well done.

Oh, the Barbossa fic! Chilling and beautifully written, I love the imagery and the descriptions, the dark tone in the story is just right and it's a really interesting explanation of how he got the dress. To mention some of my favourite bits... the whole first paragraph, and also:

There was shame in her eyes afterward, though none in his; he has been beyond shame for too long to surmise when he lost it.

left him to bleed out his crimson life all over the wreckage of his own ship

the knowledge of what he can no longer experience needling him along with the memory of what was denied him

And the last line, that's great :-)

Very nicely done! I'm none too keen on Barbosa, but I like a well written story, and yours is done well enough that...I feel for him. Never thought I'd say that! Love the paragraph where he reflects on the import of women; very insightful. Nicely put.

Thank you. :-)

I'm not a fan of Barbossa myself, but like I said this story just...showed up. And I do like to take on unlikable characters and try to find some insight or compassion for them.

This is lovely, and I really like how you've got inside Barbossa's head, and given him a past. Your description of the various women is gorgeous, and the whole thing flows beautifully. <3

*adds to memories immediately*
