So, I got a nudge from joe and so I'll post. It will be an incredibly BORING post, but I need some advice with something I'm struggling with! My SCHEDULE
( Read more... )
One thing you should remember with Street Law is that it's not only those two hours per week. I remember Phil talking last year about his driving time to the high school, the actual time spent teaching at the school, plus the time it took to plan lessons. Whew - I think that it sounds like fun, but too time-consuming!
(Of course, I'm also the one who dropped Clinic last year because it was too much time commitment with not enough credits. Am I lazy? LOL)
Okay, the more I think about it, the more I think your schedule is pretty darn good. You'll only have 2 finals, and Fed White Collar Crime will probably be the most challenging. Con Law is...Con Law. Not a whole lot you can do about that one! :)
If you change your classes around much, you'll probably end up taking more credits than you need. No point, right? I'd keep your schedule, as long as you think your Street Law class won't bite into paper writing time. Gosh, wasn't this easier when we didn't have to balance work, school, and papers?
Well....regardless of what specific field of Law I was pursuing, I think I would want some background on property law. I think it would be something that would come up pretty often in one's career, even if only from friends asking you for advice on this issue or that. Also, probably as a subset of property law would include things like maritial law--prenuptuials, wills, divorces, issues around child welfare/protection etc. etc. Perhaps very useful topics to have some knowledge about.
BUT, if you don't want the stress or hard work, stick with the street law--that also sounds like an interesting class, perhaps with some socially/morally redeeming values.
The other 3 classes seem neat.
So, what do you think about Alito? *mumbles curse words under breath*
at UW they consider trusts and estates (wills and trusts, whichever) important enough to be a requirement...perhaps you should reconsider and take wills and trusts? obviously con law II is decided...i suppose if i were you, i'd take the following:
con law II street law jurisprudence of property wills and trusts
The professor is not bad by all accounts. I love him. He might even by my current favorite professor. He's a weirdo, yes. But every law prof is! And I really like him, think he talks about the bigger issues to keep in mind, etc.
Woah, Woah - don't get your panties in a bunch. So, from all accounts of people who have taken Wills and Trusts for an entire semester, the professor isn't the most effective professor for that class. Personally, in my brief encounters with the professor, I have liked him. That's why I took the class from him in the first place...
But I can't take all the classes I want to take... it just doesn't make sense, and honestly, the reviews haven't been high for this one...
