This is great. I love your version of the story of Wilson's brother. And hey, I named him Matt too, when I wrote about him once. Cool. (I had him as the oldest brother though, and Wilson as the middle). The parallels to House make perfect sense. I like this a lot.

I pulled quite a lot from personal experience for this. I have a sister who went down that crappy path. She is the oldest, so I thought about making Wilson's disappearing brother be the oldest, too. But I once did a lot of research on sibling birth order for a paper and I exhibit a lot of oldest sibling traits (even though I'm the baby). Since I identify with Wilson to an alarming degree sometimes, that's why I decided to make him the oldest. I put a large gap between the youngest and the two older brothers because that's also how it is in my family, so I understand that dynamic from first-hand experience. My sister did her disappearing act long before I was old enough to be so involved -- I haven't seen her since I was nine years old -- so the actual details are drawn from experiences with friends or from things I've read. But I ended up pretty happy with it, and I'm glad you like it, too. :D

Oh, wow, I didn't know that. I'm sorry to hear about your sister. And yes, I can definitely see Wilson as an oldest sibling.

I use real-life experiences for a lot of fic stuff I write too. For example, my response on how John and Blythe met, is basically how my parents met, except they were in high school.

And may I say that your OOC icon is hypnotizing... lol

Awww! haha My parents met at a party... Arrived with other people, left with each other. XD Oh dear.

When I first saw this icon, in my head Wilson was just like, "...I hate the world" and I knew I had no choice but to upload it. I'm so mean to him sometimes.
