So clearly it takes more than 3 to 4 hours to die of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Other wise I wouldn't still be here. Now, just wait one second before you go calling Life Line. I didn't do this to myself willingly - although in hind sight, (and a 25 min walk home in fresh air) I could have shown a bit more interest in self preservation

Not allowed?! That really wouldn't stop me. You're being too servile.
When my workplace was trying to poison me I frequently left - admittedly sometimes not quite in time before they called an ambulance. Eventually, when they'd shown they were simply flouting the health and safety laws, I left completely. I wasn't the only person they made ill. I was merely the worst / most delicate.

I suppose they can't really argue so long as I am still in the building. (I mean they don't winge when I sit and play the piano for 3 hours - although the music room, like my office, is directly aboce the kitchen).
