They really are. What made the books even better though, is that Lawhead gives an explanation at the end as to why he sets the story in the time that he does etc., and his reasoning is brilliant.

Huh. I haven't read any Lawhead in ages. I enjoyed his Arthur books about...jeez...20 years ago. I'll put it on my summer TBR.
