Sounds like a fantastic camping trip! I enjoyed your details of flora and colors. And--of course--your tales of star watching. Certainly is easy to get lost amongst the stars. Isn't it?

I learned about averted vision from Juniper, Gentian, and Rosemary and have used it to look at the night sky many times since (and always think of you when I do).

Sounds like a lovely trip. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Oh, that's a lovely tidbit about learning about averted vision from JG&R. I learned a lot from Gentian myself -- I always feel most of her astronomical knowledge is locked up in her head, but I did retain that part.
