"Mmmmmm, Jim. I don't want to get up," she mumbled, still mostly asleep as she turned over and awkwardly cuddled up closer to him. Something wasn't right about the way her head nuzzled against his chest, but she figured it was just because her belly was getting to big for her to get as close as she used to. Even his arms around her felt weird, but ( Read more... )

River was used to not knowing quite where she was when she woke up. Her dreams were too vivid to fade right away, and it always took her a moment to orient herself to the real world. She had become accustomed to not having to do this alone, however; usually, there was a Captain snoring softly into her hair, or, if she had slept the whole night in her own bed, a half-grown dog curled up beside her, taking up less room yet somehow snoring louder than Mal.

This time, though, she wasn't in any familiar space of her own, but a sofa in a room she had never seen before. She didn't know where she was, and was well on her way to a full blown panic, when she heard the cry from the next room. That voice, at least, was familiar, and she managed to take a deep breath before going to investigate.

Pam looked around the room again slowly, not recognizing anything except for maybe a few pieces of her clothing strewn here and there. Of course, she recognized them as close from Scranton, not the Island's clothes box. She shook her head, then jumped when she heard someone padding down the hallway. Her eyes went wide and she climbed out of bed, still dressed in Jim's lip-printed boxers and one of his t-shirts.

River cautiously walked down the hall, concerned at what sounded like Pam in some kid of trouble. She pushed the door open quietly and was not really happy with what she saw.

"Pam!" she hissed. "That is not Jim in your bed."

At least she was distracted from being someplace other than where she had gone to bed, even if it was another man in her friend's wife's bed. Or maybe Pam was in Tim's bed. Didn't much matter, really, but she wanted to know.

"What is this place, and how did we get here?"

"I know it's not!" she returned, wrapping her arms around herself as she moved closer to River.

"I- I'm not really sure. I've.. never been here before," she admitted. "Is Jim here? Is he somewhere?"

She was starting to panic more now. It was bad enough she didn't know where she was, but add to that the fact that she didn't know where Jim was.. It was not a pretty sight. Already she was starting to cry.

"Mmnh," Tim said, absently reaching over to pat Bridget's shoulder. His hand didn't connect with a shoulder, though.

Must be a dream. Weird dream. Pregnant Bridget. Why's she callin' me Jim? What does that mea- WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? He jerked awake, sitting up, looking around blearily.

"What? No. I don't- What? 'm not Jim. 'm British. I." He stopped, looking over at Pam.

His eyes slowly got very very round.

"Um," he said.

That voice? Was very much not Jim's. The hand on her stomach wasn't Jim's either. She followed the arm that was attached to the hand until she reached a face. Yeah, that's not Jim's.

"You.. are not Jim," she noticed. "Why are you- Why are we- What happened?"

"No," he agreed. "Not. Definitely not Jim. I have no idea where we are." He looked around, then slid away from Pam, standing up, moving tot he window and looking very confusedly out.

"...No. No clue. I have no idea where we are or, er," he looked back at Pam- where she was. In bed.- and swallowed. "Or why." Not that Pam wasn't a lovely person, but she was pregnant with his best friend's baby. Also, there was only one person he was really interested in waking up next to, at this point in his life.

She scrambled out of bed and practically launched herself at the window to peer outside. She didn't totally recognize the area, but..

"We're in Scranton," she said flatly. "Without... Jim."
