Oh! This sounds aweeome, I am gonna mem it and read it later on. I is having so many things to read including studies (the list of which is certainly shorter than the fic list) so when I finally get to read this I'll be sure to comment. Again.
This was soooo epic! I love how you made Merlin a slave, a subservient one, but still managed to keep it Merlin and not some watered down figure of him. It's really nice that Ygrain's still alive too. I would really love to know what Morgana thinks of the way everything settles ^^
Thank you so much for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yes~ Ygraine was essential to tempering Uther and moving the story along. I was happy to give Arthur his mother too :3 I would like to explore what Morgana is doing and thinking but alas I couldn't fit that in. If I end up writing a timestamp or something, I definitely would like to explore it though! :)
Hi! I was directed here by the Rai-kirah fanfic index and read this in one shot. Wow. I mean, wow. I'm not familiar with Arthurian legend (just...not) but this is such a fine mash-up! I love Seyonne and Alexzander (sp? obv time for a reread, oh wait, I just did!) and Carol Berg's series is one of my favorites, next to Megan Whalen Turner's Queen's Thief series. I almost never comment on fanfiction on other sites because I'm not a member of the community or I'm not a friend or whatever, but this was awesome, so thank you!
Oh wow thank you so much!! To know someone not part of the Merlin fandom (or familiar with Arthurian legend) who still read my fic and enjoyed it regardless is such an honor. I'm so glad you liked it!
Sure! And please, if you haven't already read them, read the Queen's Thief books by Megan Whalen Turner. Trust. In. Me. You will grow to love Eugenides. And MWT is an awesome writer. She has a wonderful community on LJ called Sounis. That's how I got started on LJ. And really it's the only place I'm "active" if you can call it that. Anyway, MWT is eminently quotable and after her first book, which is marketed as middle grade (actually, all her books are marketed way too young), the books take a far more adult turn. The writing is all adult, though
