It may not be the prettiest spring weather out, but I'm feeling loads better now. My "super cold" has more or less passed on and my voice is at 90%. I can't control it quite as well as I'd like, pitch wise, but this hardly matters, as I'm not much of a singer, ha!
I'd missed two days of work as a result, which made me super anxious. I was feeling

Tjora looks mighty fine and impressive! I love her stockings---they keep her very grounded and also emphasize her height at the same time. Her coloration is incredibly enjoyable to look at.
Haha, I have Corel Painter Essentials 4, too. I'm still trying to get the hang of using it for digital, but painterly, art styles. I'm curious how you're doing it.

Glad you like the coloration! She was more or less plain brown all over for the longest time, eeks! Then she had white undersides and lower legs, but then this came to mind... Normally I have so much trouble coming up with believable coloration/markings/patterning for my pallanophs.
Ah yes, Painter. :D I mostly use the Gouache brushes, they work best for me. I start really messy at first, usually with the darkest tone. I was actually surprised at how well this one turned out, as normally my digital pieces leave something to be desired. XD I should do more quick practices in my spare time, perhaps. :D

I think it's my first time ever commenting something by you, although you're one of my fave artists on dA, so I might as well use this opportunity to tell you that I'm absolutely in love with your Pallanophs and I always feel very happy and excited to see anything new of them. *__* Additionally they remind me of my own species (even if they don't have much in common), so this is always very inspiring for me.
Thank you for sharing all this with us! ^_^
And Happy Birthday! :D I hope you have a wonderful day even if you don't feel anything really special about it. Have fun!

And thank you so very kindly! ^-^ It means quite a bit! And now that I think of it, I've forgotten to watch you on dA. Oh gosh... I do that so very often, I must fix that!!!!
Now I'm curious about this original species of yours! :D

Thanks so much for the rewatch! I certainly feel quite honored!
I called my species "Luin", which is the Sindarin word for "blue", because they all have blue-shaded eyes. They look pretty much like a mix of dog, kangaroo, a bit rabbit and a bit human: http://elektroyu.deviantart.com/art/Luin-Ealann-121922288
But oh well, compared to your Pallanophs they are like... nothing! XD Really, I didn't think much about them, I just like to draw them from time to time. But looking at Pallanophs always makes me want to draw Luin. I do find the Pallanophs much cooler, though. :D

I'm always so mesmerised by your pallanoph fur and anatomy... something about it is very pleasing to look at!

I'm quite pleased with how this color reference turned out, considering my previous experiences with digital and pallanoph fur. XD. This one didn't involve an epic struggle, thank goodness!

Eeee, and that's precisely the sort of thing I want to hear! I'm still wanting to do such a field guide, actually. :D

And secondly-wow! That is some beautiful colouration!
It's been a while I think since seeing Tjora in colour so my mind was still registring her as solid brown- though I know she had aquired some lighter points from your sketches.
I didn't imagine her fur was so beautiful! The dark stockings are definitely a 'thumbs up' from me :)

Very glad to hear you like the coloration, too! I just had to do more than solid brown, and I'd ventured into putting "points" on her in a few more recent drawings, so I had to see how that would pan out in the dark brown/light brown/cream color scheme. :D Hadn't expected it to work out this well, honestly!
