We had a "fight club" at my high school where even the staff came out and watched. No one was ever injured because it was for the "fun" of it and the "fighters" genuinely cared about the welfare of each other.
I realize this is a probably a pretty unique situation. As a martial artist where even under supervision by instructors, people get hurt, have grudges, and beat the shit out of each other, I felt like my high school "fight club" experience was much more rewarding.
That sounds vastly different than people trying to imitate Chuck's book, which would be a massive misinterpretation of the text besides just being really stupid.
"If there's going to be any type of antisocial behaviour after school, we'll be in the area before the school kids."
Ironic. It looked quite social in fact. And I don't think grapeflavour is suggesting it's necessarily a good thing, just ...a peculiar thing. I'm more concerned with the McDonald's commercial at the beginning, why do we not have seared chicken wraps? "Taste as good as fried" wtf!
"The report claimed teenage boys were paired up and pressured into fighting, whether they liked it or not."
I think this is the line where I can say that imitation has been tossed aside for juvenile ignorance. I bet the boys who started it simply saw the titles and thought "Now, that's an idea." I certainly hope no one was injured badly.
