bret easton ellis. american psycho is one helluva read. kurt vonnegut, if you're looking for older stuff - slaughterhouse 5 and cat's cradle immediately come to mind.

i was going to recommend easton ellis as well. Lunar Park is very good, as well as the rules of attraction.

Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson
The Rising by Brian Keene if you're into zombies
