So I just got back from seeing the last Harry Potter movie. I'd never gone to a midnight release before; it just didn't seem important. But something about it being the *last* one, and I suppose a combination of opportunity and availability, made me want to do it this time. So I went. I don't know if I'm actually going to watch this movie, but 87 on Metacritic is pretty ridiculous. Was it, like, grand cinema of grandeur?

I passed around a "politics of Harry Potter" piece (like many?) on Facebook and got a pretty good reaction the other day.

Oh God I feel like I've forgotten half of it by now. I meant to go see it again, but...haven't. But but but let me just say, I totally agree with you that Ron being able to imitate Harry is super ridic. I meant the scene when Voldie talks to Nagini while all the dead goblin bodies are strewn around him. That was a potent scene, no srsly.

I think I didn't like the King's Cross scene? I suppose it didn't move me much either way.

OMG YES the final battle was in front of everyone in the books. And tbh in the moment it didn't occur to me that nobody saw, but afterwards someone pointed it out to me and I had to agree that people should have seen. Sigh!

I am sorry you are subject to even-more-evil-than-accustomed movie prices. My sister and I saw it for $22 total, so your ticket price really blows my mind O.O No but seriously, do average Australians even bother going to the movies regularly? I imagine most movies wouldn't feel worth it.

(ps "not a stan"?)
