So I wanted to write about how much I absolutely love Steven Universe. How it's basically the cartoon I wish I'd had around when I was 10 or so. Caveat; I might be really wrong here. I just wanted to write about it

American animation has really undergone something of a metamorphosis in the past decade or so, possibly starting with MLP, which I once saw described, in an article examining its surprising popularity beyond its core audience, as "much better than it needed to be". They could have simply come up with a new version of what had gone before, but we got something that, rather like Doctor Who, appeals to its core, and much, much more broadly as well.

And I am, of course, reminded that I really need to immerse myself in several episodes on the morrow. ^_^ (I wonder if the roomie might go for it? Probably not, but I could give it a shot sometime) So far, I've only seen about the first two or three episodes, and similarly Star vs the Forces of Evil.

MLP continues to surprise me, especially with the comics, with some quite unexpected cameos, like that moment from the 1978 or so remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, or even the title of last week's outing, "28 Pranks Later" - yes, a zombie-themed episode. =:D
