Luke had finally been the one to volunteer to go shopping. With Jade around now, they really needed some extra supplies. Not to mention Luke was hungry and there was almost literally nothing left in the kitchen. Wearing a longer shirt under his coat to please the fussy townsfolk, he'd headed out towards the one shops he knew he'd probably be able to get mostly everything they needed. Though, he was starting to think he should have gone out the day before.

He wasn't particularly happy to see snow on the ground. The only thing Luke was kind of glad about was that he had worn this different shirt. His stomach would have been pretty cold by now otherwise.

Well, no, there was one other thing: the lack of any of those dark creatures or anything. He hadn't seen any so far, which was never a bad thing. Still, he guard was up, and his sword an easy draw away.

The crunch, crunch, crunch started to sound beneath her heels as she began the trek. Focusing on the ground beneath her feet caused her thoughts to wander, as well. Back to moments spent with the others in Ketterburg -- and how, even thought those were trying times, she couldn't have imagined happier ones. With Jade and Anise teasing Guy... and Luke trying to make amends for his actions... Luke... there was a part of her that ached, thinking about him. What if he had returned to Auldrant by now? And she wasn't there... instead she was cast into this world where ( ... )

If he hadn't thought he was almost to the shop, he'd have turned around. The snow was getting deeper and he was sure it was getting colder too. He'd have to make this quick. His thoughts were quickly disrupted, however, from a nearby cry. Luke stopped dead in his tracks, dazed for a moment. He knew those words and that voice, all too well. "Tear ( ... )

When she heard her name called, Tear was sure it was her imagination. The voice she replayed so many times in her head, urging her to keep going on, keep fighting. The one person that she wanted more than anything to be next to right at this moment. But she couldn't deny it anymore -- when the footsteps began to sound.

As though she was moving in slow motion, the melodist turned in the direction of the footfalls, just in time to catch a red and white blur jumping in front of her. The view from the backlines -- the same as it had been so many times before.

Was she... imagining this?

Her thought process wasn't working anymore at this point, and so, it was the soldier within that took over. It was so easy to slip into the same battle stance she always had -- knowing that on the frontlines, he was going to be there. Pushing forward.

Tear focused on her spell, unwilling to question this gift, this divine intervention, in the heat of a battle. She concluded the chant and opened her eyes... "Eclair de Larmes!"

Undoubtedly he'd surprised her--he couldn't imagine he hadn't, but leave it to Tear to still manage to pull herself together to chant a fonic arte. With Tear's arte making easy work of the Heartless, Luke slashed at the last few that had managed to avoid the spell ( ... )
