"Yeah, demons. Apparently, the next floor is a Netherworld, so it should have demons all over the place." With a little luck though, they wouldn't get swarmed the second they came in. Then again, there were plenty of demon back in the city... and they seemed "normal" so to speak.

"Apparently" was the wrong word to use here. It really was a Netherworld. She spent enough time in the one in her world to be able to recognized the atmosphere and the dark energies around them.

That and the whole 'fire in the dark throne room' was a rather dead giveaway.

"Okay... for a demon castle... there doesn't seem to be a lot of guards around."

"That's...a good thing, I'm guessing?" The place was reminding Kovu of the Outlands, which was less than desirable. "Why would you need guards in a place like this, anyway? Doesn't exactly look easy to get into."

There were only two doors in the place, at either end of the hall, and there was pretty much no way someone could get all the way to the massive chair at this side without easily getting knocked into those flames. If you were gonna put guards anywhere it'd be smarter to put them outside one of the doors.

"It's a throne room, there's always supposed to be guards. That's how it works," Priere shrugged off. Well, okay she more or less made that up on the spot, but hey, there were always guards present when she went in her Kingdom's Castle, so she couldn't be that far off.

And speak of the devil, someone-- something suddenly appeared in the room. She was about to reach for her baton, when she got a closer look to see... a penguin? "Errr... what?"

It didn't help that the moment the penguin spotted them, it flipped out. "Dood! Intruder, intruder alert! I'll let you pass if you promise not to beat me up, DOOOOOOD!"

... was this really the Netherworld?

"Really?" That...didn't make any sense. But lions didn't have throne rooms, they were always with their prides anyway, and even then the King could take care of himself without any guards. Simba sure didn't need all his lionesses to keep him safe.

The...blue...thing caught Kovu's attention quickly. He couldn't place the smell at all, but it was definitely sharp, and hurt his nose a little. "Tell me that's not one of the guards."

"I'm not a guard, there's, there's no guards here, dood. In fact, you didn't even see me, dood!"

And with that, the blue penguin sprinted out of the throne room as fast as his peg legs could. "Okay... what the hell was that all about?" Priere said, looking over Kovu with a look of complete bewilderment. "Should... we go after it?"
