Hei produced his own convincing mask of calm friendliness for Mufasa to see. It made sense to him that a lion would find a human name to be strange, nevermind the fact that he had given a false name.

When Mufasa stayed where he was as Hei quietly assessed and concluded that he did not mean harm. Unlike the crude hyena, there was a mature respect and genuine courtesy coming from this big cat. This Hei found to be very interesting.

"Li will do just fine. Shengshun's only my last name." From there came a smooth transition into explaining a little about where he had lived in his early days of boyhood. "Originally I came from China. It's a country on a continent very far north of where you live." Hei had to wonder if Mufasa knew of such geographical concepts. If not, he wouldn't mind at all simplifying an explanation Mufasa would be able to understand.

"There's plenty of countryside there, as well as some man made cities. Their appearance and how they operate are very different from this one."
