The moment Flonne began to topple, Vyers acted. Quickly he stepped forward to catch her before she hit the ground and gave her a once-over once she was caught to make sure she hadn't hurt herself in the fall. Once he was sure she was all right, a rather amused expression appeared on the demon's face. "My... That was quite the scare. You should be more careful," he said with a smile.

"Oh!" Stunned not only by the lack of impact she had been sure was coming but that it was Vyers who managed to rescue her, Flonne stared wide-eyed up at him for a moment. She smiled brightly after she recovered, patting his head gently. "Thank you, Vyers-san! I would have been hurt if you hadn't caught me." As she was set down, she brushed off her clothes and sighed quietly. "Perhaps I better take a break..."

She turned and perched on the edge of the bed. "I think it's wonderful that you and Gwen-san can continue your romance." She clasped her hands together, eyes sparkling as she stared off into space. "You've been blessed with a second chance! You must take this time to deepen your relationship even more!"

Vyers deflated a little after the pat to his head. That was all? Nothing more about his elegant rescue? It had not been the most urgent of rescues to be sure, but he had thought it would merit him a little more than a simple pat on the head. He repressed the urge to sigh. Even after all that had occurred, they still thought of him as no more than a mere mid-boss, didn't they? Was he ever going to be able to rid himself of that reputation?

"Y, Yes," he began, pulling himself together and moving to stand near the bed. "I fully intend to use the time we have been given to its fullest extent." They couldn't say how much longer it would last.

"Will you be going on another date?" She watched Vyers carefully, noting the slight dejection in his expression, though he did try to hide it. He must be having some problems with Gwen-san, she thought, fretting quietly. Not only for the sake of love but for her Overlord's happiness, Flonne felt determined to do all she could to aid Vyers! Putting aside the fact that she had no personal experience in romance, of course...

"You must not give up hope when things become tense," she said gently, taking his hand in both of hers. "Even if she sees you humiliate yourself, I know she must surely still care for you a little!"

Vyers stared down in surprise at the suddenness of Flonne's actions, his stunned look quickly changing to a frozen expression of dismay at her words. "A little..." That... wasn't very encouraging at all. Perhaps it was best to change the subject away from Gwen and himself for now. It would involve being subjected to considerably less accidental soul-crushing statements, certainly.

"Regarding Laharl," he said, a little bit louder than he intended and unintentionally ignoring the first question. "What were you saying before? About how he is since Gwen arrived?"
