Mufasa tried to put himself in Simba's place. A small smile curved his lips when he realized how confused his son must be. He imagined there must be mixed feelings as well. Yet none of that bothered Mufasa. He had enough patience and love to wait for Simba to come around.

"Simba..." his voice rumbled in his chest, "We are far more than just father and son." he smiled warmly, "I seem to recall us being friends too." he arched a brow, hoping to put the other lion at ease.

At the question, he rose to his feet and nodded.

"I am. What do you eat here?"

He hadn't seen any herds.

I track all threads I'm in, so you don't have to send me a message. Thanks though! canfinallyroar July 16 2011, 00:21:21 UTC
A small smile spread across Simba's muzzle. He had been friends with his dad. He remembered being a cub and looking up at the stars with him, learning about how the kings of the past looked down and watched over them.

The smile didn't last long when Mufasa asked what there was to eat. "There's plenty of food around. It's just there's no hunting for it." Simba nodded his head to point down a street. "I'll show you."

Sorry. ;-; I didn't know you were tracking them. he_watches_you July 16 2011, 07:31:04 UTC
The precious memories of their time together when Simba was a cub were fresh for Mufasa. Such was not the case for Simba and Mufasa felt his heart ache at how much his son had lost. Yet he knew - perhaps better than anyone - that Simba could not (and would not if he had any say) bow under his sadness. One day, his son would be King.

"No hunting?" he blinked and followed his son curiously, "How is it caught, then?"

"I don't know. I think the humans who live here do the hunting somewhere, but I've never seen any of them hunt either." Simba honestly couldn't imagine how they would anyway. It's not like they had claws, and their mouths were tiny with tiny teeth. "All I know is that they'll give you food if you give them the shiny plants." Simba trotted over to a tree and plucked off an emerald leaf from a low branch.

"That's what they want in exchange?" Mufasa arched a brow, having a hard time believing that a leaf could be worth so much, "I have seen some of these humans. They are strange looking." he walked over to the tree and plucked off a leaf with his teeth as well.
