Character(s): Aqua and Xemnas Content: Aqua gets the chance to meet Xemnas. Setting: Q-1 Aka the top, right corner of the map. Time: Not too long after Aqua's post. Warnings: IDEK.
It was the pathways of darkness that Xemnas remained hidden in, an eye kept on the floor of Paixao to make certain that the woman, Aqua, followed his 'come alone' instructions. Only when he was satisfied did Xemnas slip out from a blossom of black and magenta. He wore his hood up, but that did little to hide the gleam from his eyes and teeth, clearly a grin on his face.
Yet there were no words. It was a rare occasion - no, there was no other occasion where he would make an audience when requested. He did not care about the qualms of the beings in this city... all these... Somebodies.
But even Xemnas had exceptions, and this was one of them, though even he understood why.
Standing there stiffly, Xemnas bides his time, and merely watches Aqua.
Of course Aqua sensed his presence as soon as the dark portal brought him here and knew he was now watching her. Instinct wanted to bring forth the keyblade and face him, but she resisted for now. She needed to know what she was dealing with.
"So... you're Xemnas."
It wasn't a question, since she knew this couldn't be anyone else. No one else knew she would be here.
Slowly she turned, her gaze examining his current form--what little she could see. If this was Xehanort's Nobody, it was certainly not the shape of the Xehanort she'd known. Tall and straight, with a wide chest... She couldn't yet be truly certain, but it felt like Terra's form she was seeing. She could also see the grin from the shadows of the hood, and it was certainly unsettling.
Xemnas' answer to Aqua's not-answer is a small inclination of his head.
"You were brave to come alone," he rumbles. "Did you not know? That kind of behavior can get one killed." His eyes flash with humor and he laughs shortly, then steps forward, his gait almost predatory. But despite all this, he has no intention as of yet to attack her.
The voice took her back... back to Radiant Garden, where she'd faced Xehanort who'd taken over Terra's heart. While this voice did not have the same emotion, there was still something similar enough about it to make her think of that time; how far away it seemed now.
"This isn't the first time I've faced you alone," she replied, remaining poised, not moving from her spot. Of course, it was only part of him she faced now, but still, that was the point.
When he continues to walk, a specter over the sands, his steps are as though he were drifting, but unlike some other times, he chose to actually walk - a ring around her, not making any movement to break his invisible ring.
There is no indication on his face of acknowledgement or confusion to her words. He remains impassive, even though in his mind he is collecting the information, scanning it over, searching for flaws in the things she is saying or will be saying. Reaping her for information.
In that way, perhaps, they are alike.
What he did know: he did not face her in Paixao.
"Ah, yes. And yet there are always changes, and time puts quite the damper on perspective."
