The building itself wasn't anything particularly interesting, on the inside. It fact, it could have been just another shop, if it hadn't been for the weapons on display. They weren't anything special, but Cid had generally figured that if he knew what they were, he might as well sell them. He had to do something with his time, and hell, he hadn't really seen a lot of call for a mechanic out her anyway.

For once, Cid was even out front, instead of hiding away in his workroom. He wasn't really sure he liked the assumption that he wouldn't be at his own store if the door was open, but he supposed he'd kid the kid the benefit of the doubt.

"Why in all of Ifrit's hells wouldn't I be in my own damn store?"

Ed saw the man standing in the shop. He reminded him strongly of Mr. LeCoulte, the man that had made Paninya's automail legs. He was already starting to miss Winry...

He ignored the statement made by the old man. "I'm Ed. I talked to you about my automail." At this he took off his gloves and stuffed them in his coat pockets, then took that off as well, along with the smaller black jacket he wore underneath to reveal his arm. "My left leg is automail too."

Well, now. Wasn't that something? He wasn't going to ask how the kid had got himself so bad off that he'd need to get new arms and legs, of course. That didn't matter. He wasn't here to grill him, after all.

"I've seen things like it before," he answered with a shrug. "Can't say if they'd be the same, but hell, it's bound to be something."

Well, at this guy wasn't asking questions. He was better than no mechanic at all by a long run.

"Their made out of steel, and there's wires that connect to my nerves so I can move them without any trouble." Well, if you ignored that fact that connecting the nerves was always pretty painful, but hopefully, Ed would be out of this place before he had to get things readjusted again. "You think you can work with it if I need it? I can pay you, of course."

Cid nodded at the explanation. He wasn't sure he could do any damned thing about the nerve bits - he'd been an engineer, not a neuroscientist - but he could keep the thing running alright. Even if he did wish he'd given more than a passing look at Barret's gun-arm that once. But hell, how hard could it be.

"I've seen things like it before," he answered. "Shouldn't be too damned hard t' figure the basics out."
