Finally. Link had been waiting on edge for any message from Riku about his planned expedition into Spira. Even with Link's previous terrible experience with the place, he had wanted to go back. Even though it was so different from the Kokiri Forest, it still reminded him of home, and he had felt so calm while he was there.

Once the message came up on the screen, Link put his journal away, made sure to grab everything he promised to bring, and headed straight for the church outside the dome. It wasn't long before he arrived to see Riku in the doorway. It looked like he was the first one to meet up with him.

"You don't think the others will keep us waiting for long, do you?"

Mao was already proud of himself for finding the warp spheres but now that he was getting the chance to use them again--and to go as far up the castle as he was by using them too--only made him all the moreso. He knew that thing would end up being convenient. Mao's evil intellect was never wrong.

He had been careful to keep an eye on Yorda, half-expecting her to go wandering off in some random direction the second he took his eyes off her. She was getting better about that, he supposed, but still... It wasn't like he was worried about her or anything. She just had a history.

But the moment they stepped foot into the new world, any thought of Yorda was instantly shoved out of his mind. "The... The trees!" Mao exclaimed, seeming not to see Link and Riku nearby. What was this crystalline substance? Was it the flora itself or did it just work in some kind of symbiosis? Were these things even alive?! He would definitely have to take a sample back with him!

Yorda had rarely been out of Paixao, and she'd never journeyed so far as this before. She'd followed Mao obediently out of the city, not really knowing what to expect - but then, she never did. Each day was still bright and new to her, causing her to regard each new experience with joy and wonder.

Now was no different. When they'd stepped into the woods, the princess stood wholly still, looking about her in awed silence. The city was gorgeous, but... truly, this was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. The girl looked straight up, hands clasped in quiet joy, a look of pure wonder lighting up her face. She was so enraptured, she simply couldn't speak.

Again, Riku has Link wrong... halfdarkened January 9 2011, 04:28:20 UTC
Riku looked back over his shoulder at the arriving elf and gave him a smirk. "Probably not." He looked back forward again, still taking in the scenery.

It was only a moment later when his awe was echoed behind him. Riku didn't turn around at first, but simply replied. "I know. Nothing like back home." The chain still jingled in his hand. After a pause, he finally turned back to Mao and...

A glowing girl. That's new. Definitely not human. She seemed speechless with the surroundings. Too bad he'd have to break the silence. Riku gave her a quizzical look, brows raised, before asking, "...Yorda, right?"

Link had been looking at the path ahead when the other members of the party showed up. He knew what was out there. Or rather, he thought he knew. He turned around to introduce himself once he heard the new voice, and his jaw almost dropped.

It wasn't the new guy with white hair, although meeting another person who looked so young with such hair was a bit surprising. No, Link was surprised by the girl that was following him. She was glowing. And Link didn't see anything on her for her to use to defend herself. He remained quiet though, as perhaps this young woman could have magical abilities he had yet to see, but he had to admit that she didn't look like the fighting type.
