She held up her hand, her wry expression almost apologetic. "Hold on. This was my fault...gave you false hope and that's my leastfavorite kind." Meg sighed, leaning back to look up at the domed sky above them. "I know was I was gone but I don't know how it happened...or where I was. There's a hole in my memory or something."
Her brow furrowed and she shook her head. "Nothing good ever lasts."
Damnit. Perhaps there really wasn't anyone who knew anything about this place. He gave a heavy sigh as he almost heard his hope of finding a clue shatter.
"It would seem that way." Remus plopped down next to Meg and looked up at the dome and frowned. He much preferred the ceiling in the Great Hall back at Hogwarts.
He looked back at the young woman sitting next to him. "You wouldn't happen to anything else about this place, would you? I heard that there are doors to other 'worlds,' but I haven't found them yet."
Meg looked sidelong at Remus and sighed, a small crooked smile curving her lips. She always tried to be a realist about things but she didn't mean to bum the kid out. "Sorry, kid. I've been here a little while but nothing ever seems to make sense. You might have better luck asking the heroes. They never seem to quit poking their nose into stuff."
She lightly bumped his shoulder with her own, smirking. "They'll probably figure it out eventually." Of course, she didn't really believe that, but she wasn't going to be any more of a downer than she already was.
