With Link taken care of, Sheik had resumed her original task of scouting out the worlds upstairs. Using the utmost caution, of course. Of the two of them, Link was easily the stronger fighter, and if he'd been so badly injured here, she might well be risking her life to do this. Then again, her life was always at risk in one way or another ( ... )

Blue's breathing was coming out ragged. Darcia was wearing her out, but she had found it strange that he hadn't spoken a sound... No laughter, nothing. Instead of soothing her, however, it made Blue more nervous clashing against him, trying to dig her teeth into the black shroud over him. Despite the eyes of the Heartless, she still saw the mismatched pair, sliding over them.

Her fears were winning out in this battle.

She staggers away from him, dragging a front limb as they circle one another. It flickered through her mind that she could run, but there was no outrunning him. He didn't have opening Paradise to focus on this time around... there was only her.

She misses him lunging at her too late, and then Blue suddenly finds herself thrown across the ground roughly by his jaws. She lets out a low whimper, slowly trying to push herself back up.

As Sheik watched, a clear winner and loser began to emerge from the fight. And at first, she didn't see any need to interfere. It was probably just a territorial fight between two animals. But upon closer inspection... the yellow eyes, the darkness bleeding off its form with every movement like wisps of flame...

A Heartless? In any case, it was no wolf.

Using the iron fence, she vaulted upward, legs extended over her head - and with a thought she was above and behind the creature, the long knife slashing through fur and flesh at its shoulders. A twist in midair, and a burst of needles from her other hand flew toward its eyes with unerring accuracy.

She landed in a low crouch a few feet behind it, ready for its next move. The second wolf, for the moment, presented little threat. For now, her attention was on the Heartless... and, hopefully, its on her.

Blue shifts back on her feet at last, gaze jumping from the newcomer as the Heartless changes target and... its shape. Her eyes widen and a stunned voice slips out from her jaws, "That's not - !" Not Darcia. She doesn't know what or who it is, but with a growl and a spike of adrenaline, she's ready to fight again.

She inspects the newcomer more closely. "Whatever this creature is, I am not on its side," she replies, before lunging for the beast.

Sheik, though, barely registered that the other wolf was talking. In an instant, the beast's form shimmered like ripples in a lake, and without it even turning, suddenly she found herself staring into the yellow eyes and hooked nose of the Thief King.

"You-!" she gasped, before she could stop herself. Ganondorf? Here? But how-

A huge, black fist descended toward her, and she only narrowly managed to dodge it. The action, so badly timed, put her off-balance, and she had to block his next strike with her forearms. The force of it still knocked her skidding on her back, and the long knife spun out of her hand.

Fortunately, the wolf's attack, catching him in the arm, distracted him long enough for her to regain her feet. But before she could retrieve her knife, Ganondorf had managed to throw off his already-injured assailant, and set his sights back on her.

Only half-thinking, Sheik unleashed a flurry of needles at him, but they did little to slow him down. She hadn't even expected them to. If it was Ganondorf, how could she fight him ( ... )
