I still don't have a full handle on this Paixao place. Then again, my last job was defending nine foot tall blue people, so I need to keep this shit in perspective.Trudy daydreamed to herself at times when she knew she had no other duties or responsibilities. She had taken more to her mind lately since she had no job or active goal. She hung around, talked with her close friend Grace Augustine (who had found herself in Paixao earlier than Trudy had), met a sinister yet sweet girl in the city, talked around with a fellow pilot stuck in the nowhere land, and managed to kick herself out of bed to try and get primed for some kind of exploration ( ... )

Ziva watched as the woman stormed up to the counter, still holding the trinket she had been examining in her hand. From the looks of it, the other woman who had entered wasn't a citizen, and the person behind the counter was giving her a look that read "What the hell?"

She set the trinket back on the shelf before addressing the other woman. "No need for apologies, I do understand the feeling. I went through somewhat of the same thing when I came here." She moved to lean against the door frame for a moment, thinking.

This other person seemed like she knew what she was doing, and if she was looking for something to do, Ziva had just the thing to offer.

"You are looking for something to do? I am heading out towards those strange doors people have been discussing." She crossed her arms. "Want to come along?"

As Auron had hinted, there was always strength in numbers.

Grace had been out and about pretty much all day. She hadn't bothered to leave a note for Trudy - they weren't each others' babysitter after all - so, she had to admit she was a little surprised to walk into a shop and find Trudy. Surprised, though she shouldn't have been. Having ground her latest cigarette into the ground a moment before entering, her fingers itched for something to do, but she kept them close, arms folded over her chest.

"Doors to other worlds, doors to this one. Maybe one of them will actually have plants I can look at," she complained, loud enough for anyone in the store to hear. "This plastic crap is bullshit."

Trudy was a little shocked by the kind offer of the stranger, more so by the kindness and sincerity in the voice rather than the sudden offer of friendship. "Well, Mom said I shouldn't talk to strangers. But if we're friends, that shouldn't be a problem," she paused, extending a handshake, "Pilot Trudy Chacon. She said I also shouldn't fly planes for a living, but I'm not one to follow her advice all the time."

Even before the handshake could be completed, she looked up to see an old friend come into the store in typical fashion (i.e. she practically owned the place). "Hey there! Making sure I play well with the others?" she said excitedly, "See? I'm already making friends."

"As for the strange doors, Mom never said anything about that. I say go for it."

"A friend of yours?" Ziva asked, nodding towards the new woman who walked in. Of course, the way that they talked to each other betrayed that when they were talking.

"Agent Ziva David." She said, in introduction along with a handshake. At least she had found two people who didn't seem to have any qualms about exploring the other worlds. And they seemed strong enough, even if the new redhead seemed more like a scientist than a fighter...

...she reminded Ziva of Abby, in a way.
