Hercules was currently focusing on a rather intensive set of push-ups, trying to get distracted by the people walking around, and trying not to lose count.

Phil would not be happy if he found out that Hercules had been slacking off while he had been trapped in this city. And Hercules didn't want to let his trainer, and the closest thing to a real friend he had, down. The woman that he had helped set up her house had vanished into thin air. Wasn't that just his luck? Someone who wanted to be his friend, and didn't mind his abilities, and she didn't stick around. He didn't dwell on it though, what would be the point? He just focused on counting his push-ups.

Toph could certainly feel the vibrations in the ground caused by Hercules' push-ups. She had to wonder how he wasn't forming a crater in the ground by how much force he was exerting on the ground.

Once again distracted from her mission, the earthbender approached the young man. "You know, if you're trying to earthbend, there's better ways. The ground isn't going to move for you if you keep doing that." She had a feeling that that wasn't his purpose, but she thought it would be fun to tease him anyway. Besides, it gave her another chance to show off, and boy, did she like showing off!

He probably could make a crater in the ground if he really wanted too, he had the strength for it, that's for sure. But Herc wasn't really the type for property damage, you know? He'd done enough of that accidentally.

Hercules paused his work-out and looked up at the little girl that had approached him in confusion and replied, "Earthbend? I'm not doing... whatever that is."

Toph grinned. "I figured. What are you doing though?" Since she was a bender, "working out" was kind of a foreign concept to Toph. Why would anyone need strong muscles if they could fling boulders and move mountains without them?

Without waiting for an answer, Toph promptly sat herself down on the ground not too far away from the young man and picked at the dirt that had really got caught between her toes while she was searching for the badgermoles.

"Working out, my trainer won't be happy if I slack off"

The question as to why Hercules had to work out was a good one, he was plenty strong already, even if he looked rather a lot like a twig, and not some stereotypical strongman hero.

Well, okay, it probably had more to do with stamina than anything else. It didn't matter how strong you were if you got worn out too quickly.
