Rozalin cringed faintly for a moment. It was so terribly embarrassing. She wasn't keen on explaining how exactly she'd ended up in the water. "It... that was a long story."
She left it at that, changing subjects promptly. "Of course it wasn't an impostor!" she said, insistently. "I know you well enough to know that. It was you."
Rozalin then sighed softly, faintly shrugging her shoulders as she folded her arms to her chest. "You probably just don't remember. I've heard of this... people just vanish one day and then occasionally they return. Sometimes they remember being here, but more often than not, they don't, which would seem to be your case."
"I've got time." Adell was somewhat curious. It wasn't exactly every day you get Rozalin admitting something like that.
Adell took in this new information and briefly pondered what it meant. People showing up in this new world with no rhyme or reason to it. People disappearing, and then re-appearing with no memories of being here. Adell did not like what this meant. "This...is way too much. We really need to find a way back home. I'm sure my family waiting, and I don't wanna keep them too long."
It really was too much. She still didn't understand how any of these things happened.
"Well, no one has found an actual way to leave on purpose, except, well..." she said, trailing off a moment as she tried to figure out where to begin.
"Supposedly this place isn't what it appears to be, but rather exists in a castle. It's a bit unbelievable, but I've been to a few of the other floors," Rozalin explained to Adell the best she could, still avoiding the whole explaining the near drowning thing. "Apparently, if we can get to the top floor, we'll find a way home. I don't know that it's true, but it's really all we've had to go on."
Which was why she'd tried to leave Paixao. After months of waiting, she'd decided she needed to go on herself, but the dunking back to Paixao had been a pretty big blow to her determination. If Adell hadn't appeared she wasn't sure what she would have done now.
