Kadaj hissed softly, stepping away from his shed clothing and staring down at himself. Silver fur... black spots... what? Paws? He looked up at Axel and his eyes widened. He hissed again, fluffing up his fur so that he appeared as large and intimidating as possible.

Wait... this was Axel, not an enemy! What had come over him? He forced himself to calm down, laughing softly to cover his temporary loss of control and venturing a little closer to examine him. "Seems like someone did," he said in amused tone.

He stretched slowly, curious about this new body. It seemed like he had at least some of the instincts to go with it, or at least was using that as an excuse to get closer to Axel and start licking his fur into place, grooming him. What? It seemed like a good idea after all. Besides, it would probably calm him down too, and having an angry canine after him didn't sound like an attractive option at all.

Axel quirked a brow (or would have, had he possessed any now), and looked over at Kadaj, who seemed momentarily rather miffed. When he seemed to regain control, a wide smile spread across his long muzzle slowly, baring his serrated jaws. Nice... very nice, he made note of, running his tongue along them slowly...

His attention was eventually returned to Kadaj. It was hard to ignore being licked, after all. He knew he should have been worried about figuring out what had caused this all, but somehow the rare opportunity to be... groomed by the likes of Kadaj seemed much more appealing. Regardless of the nervousness balling in his gut, Axel emitted a low, whine-growl of pleasure, nuzzling his head against Kadaj and letting his flat, large tongue loll out from his maw again, lapping it against the cat's fur in return.

Honestly, he could get used to this.

Kadaj purred loudly, pleased that Axel was returning the favor. He shifted closer, having to stretch a bit to reach more areas to groom. It wasn't nearly easy enough, since his new form was so much shorter than Axel's... those damned long legs. It was strangely comforting, doing this, and he almost forgot that it was supposed to be an inconvenience. Almost.

He paused just long enough to ask, "Shouldn't we... do something about it?" before immediately going back to slowly running his tongue over the red fur, eyes closing lazily. Being a cat seemed to suit him just a bit too much.

Axel forced himself to move away. "We should." As good as it felt... yes, there might be something terribly wrong, and he really couldn't afford to take a chance. Axel stood up on all fours and strided back to his pants, using his muzzle to dig through them, and once he caught sight of it, hooked the silver journal in his pocket on his teeth and slowly slid it out.

He pawed at the button to open it, and thankfully that worked. Once it turned on, he struggled to try to... type with his paws. It was a slow process, but he got the hang of it. Having long nails on the digits of his paws certainly helped.

Eventually, some sort of map popped up on the screen: Paixao. There were billions and billions of dots on the map... all moving about. He pressed a button, and the map changed: the jungle. There were only a few moving dots on the screen, and Axel narrowed his eyes, focusing in on one that hovered near the entrance to the jungle...

He nudged his nose against the screen, and some sort of profile popped up. A growl rumbled in his throat.

Kadaj peered over the screen with him, nudging his head against Axel's side thoughtfully. "Simba, huh? How is this Simba effecting things like this?" He still wanted to lick him but restrained himself, aware that now wasn't quite the time for that. That didn't mean he had to stop rubbing against him, though.

The journal intrigued him. He actually felt like batting at the screen, something that was really starting to aggravate him. His ears flattened against his head slightly-- how long was this going to last? It was kind of interesting, sure, but the novelty was starting to wear off already. Well... sort of. He nudged his head against Axel again, purring.

Axel didn't answer him. In fact, he seemed to be strangely indifferent all of the sudden to Kadaj's affections. Growling softly, he stood up again and thwapped the journal closed with his paw, then lowered his head to snatch it up in his jaws, careless of his sharp teeth.

He turned around, and looked about the area slowly, another irritated snarl emitting from him. He trotted to a tree and plopped the electronic object down, and then began to dig at its base, frantically, kicking up the dirt with his forelegs. "She should have known to fix that kind of thing," he muttered to himself spitefully. Soon enough there was a sizable hole, in which he nudged the journal, and covered it with the dirt.

Once he was done, he headed back over to his pants and boots, snatching them up in his jaws and beginning to drag them off. "Mmaph mur mlothes." Take your clothes. And he began to quickly jog up the hill toward the water fall.

Kadaj stared at the spot where Axel had buried the journal, ears twitching. After a second's pause, he gathered up his things in his teeth and started after him, carefully filing away the location as reference for later. Axel would probably remember himself, but just to be prepared in case he didn't...

His ears flattened back against his head as he followed him, and he kept his head slightly down as though trying to make himself seem as small and unassuming as possible. He wasn't even thinking about it; he was actually just wondering why Axel's almost dismissal of his actions had hurt so much. It was probably just some animal thing...

Axel pawed his way up the steep hill, easily enough using what small rocks and plants there were to keep his footing while moving up the land formation. Once he was at the top, he gave Kadaj a glance back, then a look around. They needed somewhere to hide their clothes. If the entrance to the jungle was open, then anyone could wander in - and who knows where they would go, or if they would take whatever they happened upon ( ... )

Kadaj climbed up after him easily, keeping up with Axel's longer stride with relative ease, aided in no small part by a few jumps here and there that his new body performed without a second thought. He followed him back over the river and to the waterfall, feeling something almost like... deja vu? But not quite. Maybe it was just his imagination.

He didn't really mind getting wet, at least not when he moved under the waterfall after Axel, and he quickly stifled a small laugh at his expense before following him to the entrance of the cave. Unfortunately, he didn't quite realize Axel was going to try to dry himself off like that, and he backed away just a little too late to completely avoid the flying water. He dropped his clothes and shook himself off too, unable to stop himself from giving Axel a dirty look before starting to wash himself-- the right way ( ... )

Axel plopped down on his hindquarters there, looking annoyed. His ears were pinned down against his skull, the hair on the back of his neck standing straight up, and his tail was out and erect behind him; he looked very tense and edgey.

"I don't know," he growled softly. "Kill him. He's probably moved by now, so we have to look for him..." He stared blankly ahead a moment before sighing dejectedly, lifting his hind leg up and beginning to scratch behind his ear with it. "It won't be easy, he's a lion. I don't have access to my powers here, either."

...That's right. DAMNIT. They were so fucked right now. His leg lowere but he lurched forward and growled viciously at apparently nothing at all, before letting his body fall down onto the dirt floor of the cave limply, and he let out a whine. It wasn't like Axel to be so doubtful of himself, but it was a bit difficult to keep his head when the damn jungle had been breeched. Who knew who else was going to wander in...

Or who else would find out.
